ASSESSING GRADUATE SCREEN PRODUCTION OUTPUTS IN
NINETEEN AUSTRALIAN FILM SCHOOLS

This project is now completed.

The Final Report (8.85Mb) can be downloaded here.

This report was reviewed by Dr Elizabeth McDonald, special consultant to ALTC, formerly Director of International at the Australian Learning and Teaching Council and Director of Programs and Networks. In her review Dr McDonald wrote:

“This is a detailed report of a highly sophisticated project. I believe the project offers a rather neat way of developing standards in areas such as the creative arts where the product produced demonstrates student learning. I hope you are able to share your approach more broadly within that community.

I am impressed that you brought in the appropriate statistical expertise. Although reading the report on the Rasch method would not be of interest to many, it is essential to convince others of the veracity of the model for the purpose you used it in this research. The project links quality research with practice in the field of academic assessment.”

Here final remarks were:

“I believe this report will provide an excellent record of a highly valuable project which demonstrates the value of collaborative development of new approaches to assessment. It also offers an insight into setting and developing standards within the creative arts area.”
